In a poker tournament, a player is considered an active player when he places at least one chip in the pot. He is also known as the mark. His opponent may call or raise his bet.

There are a number of different types of poker, including draw, community card, and stud. The game’s origins are not clear. However, some speculate that the game originated in France.
